Duluth, MN

Duluth Indivisible, Good Trouble Indivisible, Zenith City Indivisible and 50501 are joining forces for No Kings! October 18th. We practiced at Hands Off! in April, at No Kings! in June, regularly at Stauber's office, the corner of Lake and Superior, at the Coppertop and the EPA. Now let's double our impact! Invite your family, friends, and neighbors, your union, your faith community, your club or team, and your work colleagues! Join us at City Hall on October 18th to proclaim NO KINGS! Our Constitution is under attack from within - We the People have the power to stop that.

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. We don't put up with troops in our streets. We don't put up with all three branches of government disregarding the Constitution.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship and authoritarianism together. Last June there were about five million of us on the streets. Can we make that ten million next month?

Healthcare Not Authoritarianism

Tell The Truth, Stauber

When:
Thursday, October 9, 4:00-5:00pm
Where:
Intersection of Miller Trunk Highway & LaVaque Road
Duluth, MN

Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans have spent the past nine months selling out working families in order to give tax breaks to their billionaire friends. Now they’re taking us into a government shutdown because they refuse to negotiate with Democrats and lower healthcare costs for our families.

As the funding deadline looms, Trump has refused to support a budget proposal that would prevent millions of Americans from losing their health care. He's insisted on illegally cancelling funds our communities rely on. And then threatened to fire even more federal workers when the government shuts down. We deserve a budget that meets our health care needs and reins in Trump's lawlessness.

Let's fight to protect our healthcare.

Protest Agasinst MNPower Sale to BlackRock

Support Harbor City Student Protest!

from ACLU

When:
Thursday, October 9, 12:30–3:30pm
Where:
Minnesota Power Plaza
Duluth, MN

I'm a student at Harbor City International School in Duluth MN.

I'm reaching out to fill you in on a plan for student action and extend an invitation.

In response to the decision to sell Minnesota Power to BlackRock students from Harbor City International School have decided to facilitate a protest. On 10/9/25 students will perform a walkout where we will march to the Minnesota Power building in downtown Duluth and protest this sale. We plan to have a variety of students speak on this issue and how it impacts us as community members, students, and youth.

If unaware, see the following for context:

This protest will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 on Thursday, October 9th. It will be located at the Minnesota Power plaza in downtown Duluth on Superior Street and Lake Avenue. Students will lead this event where we will express our disapproval of this sale and our concerns for the impacts it will have.

We are deeply concerned for how this change will affect us and our community. It is imperative to voice our fear, frustration, and worry. In efforts to make this a larger scale community event we invite you to participate in this protest with us and/or spread the word about it. We want to voice that Duluth is NOT okay with the privatization of our public company- we need to be heard.

Election Policy in the Second Trump Administration

from Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs

When:
Thursday, Sept. 4, 10am–2pm
Where:
Virtual via Zoom

"Since taking office again, President Donald Trump has aggressively sought to change U.S. election policy. His executive order mandates proof of citizenship for voter registration, changes the rules governing postmarked ballots, and directs the Election Assistance Commission to rescind voting equipment certification. In addition, the administration has abandoned many of the election security improvements that followed the 2016 and 2020 Russian attempts to influence U.S. elections. Other initiatives like The SAVE Act, memorializing elements of President Trump’s executive order in law, have worried election administrators. This one-day conference, sponsored by the University of Minnesota’s Certificate in Election Administration Program, will explore these issues, the likelihood these policies will be adopted, and the effect they could have on U.S. elections."

Join us in showing Congress that they can't vacation their way out of the Epstein Files.

D.C. is being used as a testing ground for expanding federal abductions beyond perceived immigrants. They have taken federal control of law enforcement and brought in the National Guard under the guise of ridding the city of crime - and unhoused citizens. This is a clear authoritarian move, right out of the fascist playbook. They want to scare and desensitize us into allowing them to abduct anyone they want to off the streets. Why now? It is also a fantastic distraction from the Epstein files.

Congress returns on Tuesday, September 2nd and they're hoping to carry on like nothing is wrong. Not happening. We will make our voices heard.

Good Trouble Lives On

In Ely & Virginia

Virginia

When:
July 17, 3:00–5:00pm
Where:
Hwy 53 and 12th Ave

Ely

When:
July 17, 5:00–7:00pm
Where:
Whiteside Park

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

John Lewis served in the House of Representatives for 33 years, and his life work was an ongoing invitation to others to build a better, just world that values the dignity and the worth of every human being. He urged people to “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America.”

On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble and defend our democracy.

From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.

The Virginia event is sponsored by Northern Progressives, Democracy in Action on the Iron Range (DAIR), Indivisible, ACLU, MobilizeUSA and other groups.

In Ely, come add your voice in Whiteside Park. Bring signs or make one there. After demonstrating on Sheridan Avenue, we’ll take time to get to know new friends, talk about issues you’re concerned about, and get a bite to eat. You can bring a picnic dinner, get food from a food truck, or head to a local restaurant. Get ideas about how you can cause some Good Trouble.

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Where:
Stauber's Hermantown Office

Hermantown, MN 55811

It's time for Congressman Pete Stauber to grow a spine—or step aside.

Pete Stauber has consistently aligned himself with Trump, supporting extreme policies that harm Minnesota families. He remained virtually silent as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) dismantled USAID and imposed draconian funding cuts to education, healthcare, scientific research, Medicaid, food for children, and more. He has endorsed harsh immigration crackdowns that separate families and deny them due process and basic human compassion. He is a threat to Medicare, Social Security, and veteran's benefits. He has attacked reproductive rights, undermined environmental protections, and repeatedly refused to meet face-to-face with the constituents he was elected to serve.

For Hermantown, we will be gathering at his office located at 5094 Miller Trunk Hwy 900.

They’ve gone too far!

This is bigger than political disagreement. They’ve defied our courts, deported American citizens, disappeared people off the streets, and slashed our services—all while orchestrating a massive giveaway to their billionaire friends . Enough is enough!

Donald Trump thinks his rule is absolute, but in America, we don’t do “kings.”

For anyone who thinks he’s gone too far, please join us for a peaceful rally in support of democracy.

Speakers, food, and games. We will also be accepting donations for local veterans programs.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

The corruption has gone too far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

Several of us attend the weekly “What’s the plan?” Zoom calls with Indivisible’s co-founders Leah and Ezra each Thursday afternoon at 2 pm Central Time.

The calls are great for keeping you connected with current resistance efforts and strategy nationwide.
